Aaron Lind, M.A. is a certified Hatha Yoga instructor, graduating from Swan River Yoga Shala and School in 2008, specializing in alignment and body mechanics. He is overjoyed to share the practices of Yoga with the community, including Kirtan, Meditation, Mantra Practice, and Asana. He is currently studying the methodology and art of teaching Anusara Yoga and is steadily accumulating study and teaching credit hours towards Anusara-Inspired status.
Aaron has also studied the science of alignment and body mechanics extensively through the workshops, the Immersion Program and level one teacher training with Anusara Yoga founder John Friend, and Certified Anusara instructors Cat McCarthy, Scotta Brady, Zhenja LaRosa, and Jordan Bloom, and completed Martin Kirk's Anusara anatomy training for yoga teachers in Chapel Hill, NC. He also studied briefly with Sharon Gannon, co-founder of JIvamukti Yoga in New Orleans. He is incredibly grateful to all his teachers and friends for sharing incredible healing wisdom that has brought him much relief and joy, which he wishes to share as a teacher.
Aaron is also a dedicated student of Prof. Douglas R. Brooks PhD, who has shown him the deep abiding beauty of life through the teachings of Rajanaka Tantra. Aaron is studied in the realms of applied philosophy, Hindu mythololgy, and meditation.
He is very excited to share his knowledge and experience of yoga in its many forms with the wonderful New Orleans community. Aaron actively engages yoga as form of service, and strives to provide students with a skillful blend of intelligent alignment and deep yogic philosophy.
A native of The City of Trees- Boise, ID, Aaron moved to New Orleans in 2001 to participate in the incredible local music scene and complete Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Jazz Guitar from the University of New Orleans. He brings his musical experience to yoga instruction in the form of Kirtan events, Mantra classes, and uplifting chants in class. Aaron's intention for teaching yoga is to provide students with an opportunity to deepen their experience of life on and off the mat by creatively engaging their bodies, hearts, and minds to flow more gracefully in the currents of everyday experiences.
