Budding Yogis Teaching Kids Yoga Certification
Updated: 10-21-2009
The budding yogis teaching yoga to kids certification is for you if you are:
• a parent who would like to share your yoga practice with your family
• an educator looking for an active and fun way to connect with your students and help them focus
• a child psychologist or therapist interested in learning new techniques to reduce anxiety in your clients
• a yoga teacher who enjoys working with kids
• anyone else interested in using yoga to help nurture and support children.
The Budding Yogis training will impart our unique philosophy of teaching kids yoga and mindfulness in a way that stretches their imaginations, offers them non-competitive opportunities to play, and teaches kids how to relax. Participants will gain detailed information about how to teach kids yoga classes, how to create theme-based yoga classes and how to teach self-calming and meditation techniques. Throughout the weekend, participants will learn kids yoga poses and yoga games, gain a clear understanding of the age-breakouts for classes, and learn ways to deal with various behaviors including special needs.
In this Budding Yogis teacher training, we will learn through doing, by experiencing kids yoga classes and discussion of what works well with kids. Each student will have an opportunity to plan, observe or co-teach a kids yoga class on the last day of the workshop. We'll also discuss what it takes to get started teaching and/or start-up a kids yoga business. A Budding Yogis Level I certificate will be given to each participant if all sessions and the practice teaching session are successfully attended.

Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation & Stress Reduction
Updated: 09-06-2009
A special opportunity to become familiar with the time-tested, relaxing and restorative qualities of Mindfulness Meditation. We'll explore how meditation helps lower stress levels, and be more balanced and healthy. We know that many folks are often intimidated by the thought of sitting still for long periods of time. So we’ll first explore gentle flowing movements that release tension and stress, to prepare for meditation.
As weeks progress, instructions will cover meditation while sitting, kneeling, standing and walking. Each class includes deep relaxation in the reclining posture. Esteemed Meditation Instructor Jon Waterman will also offer short talks which include a relaxed blend of Applied Mindfulness—a secular approach to teaching meditation similar to Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and some traditional teachings from the path to enlightenment.
This series is primarily for those new to meditation and/or want to reduce stress. Props such as chairs, sitting cushions, blankets and eye masks will be provided.

Introduction to The Five Tibetans
Updated: 09-06-2009
Special 4-week Class, starts November 1.
The Five Tibetans are known as the ancient "Rites of Rejuvenation" or the "Fountain of Youth." In less than 20 minutes a day, the Tibetans will strengthen, energize and balance you. You’ll feel healthier, more alive! The Tibetans are known to enhance bone mass, eliminate double chins, boost memory and immunity, improve eyesight, posture/spinal health, and more.
The Tibetans can be strenuous, but modifications are shown and practiced in this introductory class open to students brand-new to the Tibetans and to those who want a refresher course. You’ll learn relevant warm-ups, how to perform each Tibetan with proper alignment and breathing, and how to avoid injury/ramifications of this powerful practice.
We’ll discuss the impact the Tibetans have on the Chakra energy centers, glands and organs, and you’ll get your questions answered about your practice. You’ll also receive lots of handouts and teacher support to aid your home practice of the Tibetans. Instructor Luann Fulbright, owner/director of Dream Yoga Studio, has taught students The Five Tibetans since 2003.
