Please join us for yoga Saturday morning at 11:00am at the Self Discovery Center, conveniently located a block from Little Five Points near Moreland Ave./Ponce de Leon Ave.(details on exact location below). When the weather is pretty enough, we will hold the class outside in the common space in front of the center!
We'll have a great Vinyasa Flow Yoga class taught by certified instructor Lisa Cohen! This class will feature Vinyasa flow yoga taught by certified instructor Lisa Cohen who also teaches at Decatur Yoga and Pilates, the Self Discovery Center, and Jai Shanti! Vinyasa yoga uses a sequence of breath-synchronized movements to transition between sustained postures. The name Vinyasa has a specific meaning, Nyasa denotes "to place" and vi denotes "in a special way." This is a wonderful class focused on flowing movements in conjunction with deep breathing to purify your body! The cost of this class will be $5 per person! This class is for yoga enthusiasts who are familiar with sun salutations and vinyasas and are ready to work out and be challenged! Novices and seasoned practitioners and those in between can all come, but those with physical limitations or injuries may prefer to stick with the more gentle and restorative classes. Do you love lots of chaturangas and warriors? Balancing poses? Do you like to sweat? I have my roots in Bikram and hot yoga, so I know what you like and I am ready to provide it. Are you ready to get your heart rate up?
While I do not focus on weight when I teach, yoga (even less vigorous styles) can aid weight control efforts by reducing the cortisol levels as well as by burning excess calories and reducing stress. Yoga also encourages healthy eating habits and provides a heightened sense of well being and self esteem.
This class lasts approximately 75 minutes; please arrive about 5 minutes or so early with a mat and water bottle. Most of all bring an attitude of willingness and exploration to find that balance between effort and ease.
Suggested donation: $10. Class cards are available. Ask for details.

Bring a mat, some water, and if you routinely use props like a strap or a block or a cushion, bring it too, though those things are not necessary. If you can arrive 5-10 min before class begins, that would be great!
