Muse Yoga Studios

At Muse, we offer and eclectic sampling of yoga classes. We expressly seek out teachers with different backgrounds and styles of teaching. We look at yoga as an ecstatic celebration of the human body. It's innate perfection and infinite potential. Students who take a variety of classes will have the opportunity to playfully study alignment and yoga fundamentals, drawing up from the lineages of Anasura, Iyengar, Forrest, and various styles of Vinyasa.
At Muse, we prioritize making yoga accessible to everyone. We believe students should not lose the opportunity to study this fascinating and powerful art because of financial limitation. We are a SLIDING SCALE studio, where students pay between $15 - $4 per class. We ask that students pay their teachers as much as they can and still maintain their a budget for regular study. Muse is one of the only studios in the country that operates on this revolutionary sliding scale and we do it proudly!

Hatha Yoga with Debra Mulnick
Updated: 09-28-2009
MUSE: What is your vow as a teacher? Debra: I try to help students find ways of practicing yoga that are beneficial for them. I teach with care, giving practical help, out of a love of helping and sharing what I love. It is my belief that there is no one way, or one style of yoga that is correct for everyone. Each person has to find the yoga that is "right" for them, taking into account age, situation in life, physical needs, etc. Learning to be sensitive to our needs in yoga is both the goal and the process, as our needs are constantly changing. Sthirasukham asanam (YS II.46). With this brief and famous sutra written thousands of years ago, Patanjali gives us the qualities of an effective asana practice. Stability and ease or comfort, are the essential ingredients of any intelligent yoga practice. I guide students to observe what is taking place in their bodies, breath, hearts and minds. Developing awareness is the key to practicing yoga in an authentic way—which can be as unique as each one of us. Inner stability (of both body and mind) and relaxation are discovered through all aspects of yoga—awareness and self-study, study of yoga philosophy, breathing, meditation, asana, and deep relaxation.

Anasura Yoga with Brandie Redinger
Updated: 09-28-2009
MUSE: What is your vow as a teacher? Brandie: I vow to develop my students into full engagement of the body/mind/heart, for the purpose of evolving destiny. I aspire to do this by always expecting the impossible, while embracing limitations as a direct doorway into unfolding possibilities. I understand the student-teacher relationship as a vehicle to inspire awakening through a sacred and ethical obligation. There are no great teachers without great students. This relationship is about process and engagement. I vow to be present, authentic and transparent with my students as well as to sustain as ever evolving studentship with my own brilliant teachers. MUSE: Therefore, who is your student? Brandie: My student is the one yearning and willing to open their heart brightly toward their unborn potential. He/she is also the one who is naturally captured and fascinated by the "evolutionary impulse" and genius of the evolving Universe, yoga philosophy and one who is curious about their own place and responsibility in creating a greater future. To me, the most exciting student to meet is the one hopelessly surrendered to the delight of their MUSE and is deeply anchored by their caring for the world.

Vinyasa Flow - Dancing with the Breath, with Jodeen Revere
Updated: 09-28-2009
MUSE: What is your vow as a teacher? Jodeen: To act as a guide for people as they explore their own unique relationship with yoga. Creating safe and sacred space with them in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment, where they can play, experiment, laugh and breathe joyously. MUSE: Therefore, who is your student? Jodeen: Since my class is a level two, my student has some yoga experience or at least possesses body awareness thru some form of physical activity. Someone who is seeking to find spiritual, emotional and physical balance thru their practice, not just exercise. Someone who is interested in "being yoga", not just "doing yoga". Jodeen has been practicing yoga for 12 years and teaching for 5 years. Her initial exposure was in the Iyengar tradition and then moved into Vinyasa. She has studied with Shiva Rea, Micheline Berry, Sean Corne, Rodney Yee and Max Storm. She also does Thai Yoga Massage.
