Each class I teach is different and comprises various sequences of asanas (the postures). Over a period of 8 classes many of the foundational asanas will have been enjoyed. In an Iyengar-style class, we often hold the postures for an extensive hold to release deep into your fascial (connective tissue) system. Alignment as we move is very important in this discipline of yoga, as this allows each individual part as well as the various physiological systems to function to their best potential. Often there will be a reading to set our intention for the class, sometimes there will be simple breathwork, or even a short meditation.
