Evolutions @ Yoga is a little different than most yoga studios around. You’ll notice that the first time you walk in the door as you are greeted by “The Wall.” You’ll step into a “little oasis”, as Arjun Baba called it. It’s rare to feel like you stepped into another world, but it happens HERE.
Our trip is Bhakti Yoga. Yogasana and Kirtan are our vehicles. By the way, that means physical posture and call & response singing are what we do. :) We keep a light heart and travel our path one step at a time. Along this path we are growing a community (satsang) of amazing souls, and look forward to all those we have yet to meet... is one of them YOU?
We have regular events which bring community together for workshops exploring the many facets of yoga as well as hold regular kirtans (call & response chanting). Kirtan is exploding all over the world, be part of the change!

This is a wonderful practice for everyone of All Levels. This class provides a practice which is easy to follow for beginners, but allows the more advanced practitioner room to grow and go deeper into postures. We mainly focus this class on static postures (asanas) and hold them for a few breaths to gain strength and work with our own body's resistance.

Gentle Yoga takes a slower approach to the posture (asana) flow. We take time in postures to relax and learn to feel the poses in our own bodies. We balance strengthening with stretching to gain overall balance withing the physical body. This class offers soothing a soothing relaxation period to de-stress and let the body release toxins (i.e. physical, emotional, psychological). Gentle Yoga is open to All Levels and is a good place for newbies to begin. Gentle Yoga is also good for those who are recovering from injury or dis-ease.

In this class we explore the more subtle realms of a yoga practice. We combine physical posture with powerful pranayama (breathing) techniques as we explore the inner world of our own consciousness. This class introduces meditation practice, both sitting and lying down techniques. We use strong visualizations as we explore each chakra and the effects on our own lives. This class is open to all levels. **Please note: This class is not "exercise" based. By exploring these subtle techniques of yoga, weight loss is a natural and sustainable by product... but you must be ready and able to face your own emotional toxins through the meditations and breath work.

This is the class for moms-to-be! Prenatal Yoga is a gentle style of yoga which works to strengthen and stretch birthing muscle groups getting you ready for labor. You will be taught helpful breath techniques (pranayama) to calm and sooth the body and mind both during prenatal months and when things get a little intense during labor. There is a wonderful focus on connecting to your baby as well as taking time for yourself to just RELAX! Imagine that.... a place to come and just relax for a few minutes with nothing special to do :) You can begin this class at ANY time during pregnancy. It is never too late or too early to begin (you can even begin pre-conception to balance hormones and get the body ready as well as stay in this class post-natal to heal and recover from birth). ***Many women have their first experience with yoga during their prenatal months, we will guide you and help you with any questions or concerns you may have about beginning a Prenatal Yoga practice. This is an intermediate practice, prior yoga experience recommended. We heat the room up to 85-95 degrees and flow through a series of poses to strengthen the muscles and utilize the heat to stretch deep muscle tissues. The heat allows your muscles to expand and stretch safely and move further than you are able to in a cooler practice room. When practicing in the heat it is important to honor your own body and rest as needed. We recommend that you have water on hand (No Ice!) to sip during the practice as your body sweats out toxins. If you have questions about our Hot Practice and if it would be appropriate for you, please ask.

In this class we work on dynamic postures and some breath work to build up the core of the body. This class is open to All Levels, but will prove to be quite challenging for those with no prior yoga experience. The bulk of the postures require long holds and the ability to work with the resistance of you own body to build strength. When we incorporate breath work along with a long held posture the experience can become quite dynamic and we encourage you to honor your body and rest as needed.
