Deb came to yoga many years ago to build strength, increase flexibility and challenge herself physically. She continued to come back to her mat for the peaceful, accepting and harmonious feeling that stayed with her after her practice.
With an intention to help others, Deb spent many years working as a lawyer, teacher, community activist and fundraiser before she became a yoga instructor. She earned degrees from University of Michigan and Northwestern Law School and most recently completed a year-long 200-hour yoga teacher-training program at Moksha Yoga Center with Daren Friesen and is certified through the Yoga Alliance.
Deb’s goal is to create a safe place where students can practice yoga together and let go of all judgment, ego, distractions and doubt. In a soulful vinyasa flow style, Deb emphasizes the fundamentals of alignment while leading a strong, steady-paced practice and encourages students to modify or challenge themselves according to their uniqueness.
Presently, her journey is enriched by the incredible teachers in her community and trainings, workshops and apprenticeships with master teachers from different styles and traditions. Deb is appreciative of her dear friends, who as her first students, helped her find her voice and of her three beautiful children and supportive husband who provide her additional grounding and joy.
