"And yet not a dream, but a mighty reality-a glimpse of the higher life, the broader possibilities of humanity, which is granted to the man, who amid the rush and roar of living, pauses to learn what living means”

I have always considered myself a competitive runner, fast swimmer and Teen tennis Competitor. The real challenge found me over five years ago at Santa Monica Power Yoga in Bryan’s Kest class. I was the greatest failure in history of yoga dropping almost breathless on my mat after few minutes of holding Adho Mukha Svanasana-Downward Facing Dog. Seeded from childhood the competitive mind of mine brought me back again to his class. And then I just became regular at the studio..

In 2008 under the wisdom wings of Rudy Mettia and Shana Meyerson I have received Certificate in Hatha Yoga and Yoga for Kids from Mini Yogis. I have been challenging my competitive mind every day since the first class by rushing to Santa Monica Power Yoga, Yoga Works and Exhale to take a breath while practicing with Annie Carpenter, Simi Cruz, Vinni Marino, Saul David Raye, and other wonderful “influences."

My classes are sequenced in Vinyasa Flow and laced with Pranayama and Meditation. There is no competition, no running, and no struggle. We all flow while listening to what our minds tell us and observe our bodies with our skin, seeing what our sometimes deceptive eyes cannot see. We bring awareness to what living really means even if just for the time of the practice.

Vinyasa Flow
Updated: 08-21-2009
As a marathon runner, tennis player and swimming fan I found yoga the most effective of practices to keep your body and mind connected not only during the practice but also while competing. It boosts our energy and muscles giving more than just regular stretching + GU gel. I wish to share these wonderful benefits of yoga at the morning class with those who are interested in becoming faster runners, stronger footballers, better tennis players, etc. We flow with Ashtanga Vinyasa sequencing warming up core of energy, toning the stomach, arms, and legs. Every class comes with focus on different body parts but alignments are always this same.. If you suffering from recent injury, thightness, pain I will treat it with therapeutic approach that will soothe some of the inconveniences. If you wish to learn more about myself and my experience please feel free to check Santa Monica Power Yoga website-affiliated teachers or just join me at the class. ;))) Looking forward to practice with you… Namaste, Ania
